Easy and safe quickshifter

Directly integrated into the Keihin ECU firmware

Overview:

The whole functionality relies on predefined gear ranges.
The software is comparing the live gear sensor against these gear ranges each crank revolution and decides whether to cut power or not.
Tight gear definitions allow very low engagement force to minimize gearbox and shift fork wear.
In order to enable smooth shifting with the clutch, the QS is inactive below the configured TPS threshold.

The additional software was entirely created in assembler from scratch
No parts were copied from the 2023+ KTM software!
This is to ensure the QS is working reliable and exactly as specified.

Free configurable gear ranges
Configurable throttle position threshold
Very low engagement force
No false neutrals
No time-based configuration
No additional hardware or aftermarket ecu neccessary
Unability to load the engine/gearbox when gear not engaged correctly
Failsafe in case gear sensor unplugged / failed


Variants:

Currently, two approaches to power cutting are being used: Retard and Cut

Ignition retard

This approach retards the ignition timing so far that zero torque on the gearbox is being generated. A dedicated ignition map calulcated the perfect amount of ignition retard and ensures the cleanest / smoothest power interruption in partial load as possible

Sparkcut

This type uses the total interruption of the ignition to interrupt the power. This approach is a little rougher and harder on the drivetrain.


Modes:

Shift up

In this mode quickshifter is only working while upshifting.
Upshifting is possible in each gear from tps threshold up to full load

Shift up & down

In this mode quickshifter is working while upshifting AND downshifting.
The downshift is possible from light load up to full load.

A dedicated overrev protection is not implemented!

Compatibility & requirements:

In general this modification is possible to all 4 stroke KTM/Husqvarna and GasGas competition bikes using the gear position sensor.
Due to transmission differences, different variants of the QS are used and the shift speed/precision may vary.

Perfectly working and precise gear position sensor & gearbox are absolutely mandatory for the best results.
